I believe spontaneity and the urge to “play” lead to instinctive creation and result in something truly unique. That’s why I strive to “play” more, breaking away from the self-imposed rigidity that can sometimes stand as a wall between me and my creativity. To deconstruct that wall, I spill coffee on paper, welcoming the spontaneity and the beautiful mess. This is when Pareidolia—the tendency to see patterns and find meaning in randomness—comes into play as I stare at the coffee-stained paper. This process lies at the heart of my work, where imagination and creativity take the lead. Whenever I spill coffee on a blank page, I never really know where my mind would take me and I prepare to let my imagination spill on the page. It feels like I’m riding shotgun while my creativity steers, guiding me somewhere unexpected but I know it will be a great ride.
